APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION

"the household of God being built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets." (Eph 2:20) Apostolic Succession refers to the historical lineage of apostolic men who have, generation after generation, contributed to building up the church and ensuring the transmission of authority. This is evident even in practices like the Anglican Ash Wednesday Service, which reflects the continuity of faith. Tertullian challenges heretics to trace back the origin of their churches to the Apostles, highlighting the importance of maintaining the authentic teachings that are also celebrated during the Holy Mass.
